Five new authors share insights on personal growth

During a recent event organized by the Authors@Wharton speakers series, five new authors shared insights from their recent business Courtesy Knowledge@Wharton podcast

  1. Tech addiction is a lot deeper than we think. Over 50% adults may be tech-addicted!
  2. A school in Silicon Valley don’t allow tech in a school. Steve Jobs did not allow his kids to use iPads.

2. Leading a meaningful life:

  • cleaning up animal poop is life-meaning for someone.
  • - Transcendence, purpose, belonging and story-telling are 4 pillars of #LifeMeaning
  • Choosing to lead a meaningful life may be the starting point?
  • Be a story teller to lead a meaningful life. Journaling is a great option. Tell a story to. I’ve forward. #HireACoach

3. Stretching: psychology of resourcefulness

We tend to make #SocialComparisons.

  • Own it
  • Constraints unleash creativity
  • Outsiders solve problems — structured activity (like games) to unstructured activity ( VUCA to ‘games people play), the role of expertise diminishes dramatically
  • Success comes from doing, not planning — the next in line effect — 9 seconds before & after, we are not listening. Spontaneity works.

#JustDoIt, the origin of this story is a revelation!
