Both now coaches. When they met recently, for mutual coaching & mentoring conversations

They both belong to perhaps an earlier, or a different generation. They come from simple backgrounds. They both are self-made. They both worked hard in their corporate roles. In India, though they belonged to the same organisation, they did not each other. A common friend introduced them and they met in a foreign land, as colleagues. They continued to work hard, and left a big impact in their respective areas of business in a short span.

Their legacy endures.

In between the families made a few trips to some of the global tourist destinations. Both came back to become entrepreneurs.

While one went early and came later, the other chose to return earlier, even after going later! Both had the options to stay on and reap the benefits of their hard work. Both have now completed nine years and seven years of experience in their new avatar. And it has not been easy, for both, at physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

“Why am even doing all these”, and “For whom” were the questions that came up. Existential?!

They have already ticked their professional legacy for this lifetime. It was not for money, obviously. Health & relationships have only taken its toll. Spiritual quotient was perhaps at the lowest.

They discussed the future business plans and the way forward. All about business.

Content, not context. What, not who.

Still they are committed to the journey. They got to hang on.

One question from the senior entrepreneur rattled the other:

I know you as the outgoing personality with networking skills, giving results as Business Head. What stops you now…

A coach always hold the mirror. This was too much a mirror for the latter. He knows his success in this avatar depends on how he find answers for these & act upon them, aligned with his dreams & goals. To maximise potential, professional first & personal later!the coaching way!
